a few of my favorite things

I use this blog as a way to document our everyday lives as a family--the regular stuff and the exciting stuff--and so far it has just been photos of stuff we've done (and I have been playing catch-up, so I apologize for the large amount of "lately" photo dumps)! I want to start a bi-weekly post where I feature some of the things I'm loving lately--from fashion to makeup to recipes to music and so on. here is week one of a few of my favorite things!

I've been loving the idea of a capsule closet-- a set of clothing (mostly basics, mostly essentials), normally around 24 items, which can be mixed and matched to create a wide variety of outfits--and am thinking of doing a season of it! either a summer capsule wardrobe or a fall capsule wardrobe. we will see! there a bunch of tips for minimalist wardrobes and packing light here!

COLD BREW. I can't get enough of it! I've been making my own concentrate lately and am loving it! it is the easiest thing and saves me probably like $25346. the simplest recipe: one cup of ground coffee + four cups of cold water. mix together, let sit overnight in the fridge. filter twice. to mix: one part concentrate + two parts water. pour over ice add cream and whatever else you like in your iced coffee, and enjoy!]

R+Co Death Valley Dry Shampoo. I have tried many dry shampoo's, plus I am a mom -- you could probably say i am a dry shampoo connoisseur of sorts -- and this one is my newest and most favorite. it is light and smells wonderful and has a very fine mist, so it doesn't leave your hair feeling sticky or heavy.

I don't know if you've heard of this show yet, but it is incredible. Tina Fey is the creator so you know its gotta be good! the first season is currently on Netflix and a second season is rumored to be in the works!

slow-cooker honey garlic chicken! i made this last week and paired it with cauliflower rice and broiled asparagus with lemon. recipe here.

ok this is my favorite one of all the favorite things--new music! this week was extremely good for new album releases, in my opinion! Death Cab for Cutie (one of my all-time favorites), Lord Huron, Sufjan Stevens (came out a few weeks ago), and Josh Garrels. They are all available on Spotify, and Josh Garrels' is available fo FREE, here! (also Flo-rida has a new album?)

what are some things you're loving lately?

xoxo
