spring capsule wardrobe

The time has come. I have made my final decisions for my capsule wardrobe and will now begin! It wasn't too hard for me to come up with only 40 items, since thats pretty close to the amount of things in my closet I wear over and over again. My process was to ask myself if I would wear it right now, and from there, I chose items that are pretty versatile and can be paired with other items to make multiple outfits.

Below are my 40 items. I tried to link everything for you, and if the item was sold out or found at a thrift store, I tried to find a similar one (also, there are a few items not pictured -- kimono, flannel, denim shorts, embroidered dress -- that is because they were getting washed!). Looking at them now makes this whole mini-wardrobe thing seem pretty easy but I have already had a few difficulties! I am a complete jeans and t-shirt girl, especially after having Forest, and it will be a fun challenge to put a little more effort into my outfits. I am excited to use layers and jewelry and lipstick and hats to dress up my basics!

graphic tee (similar) / stripe tee (similar) / white tank / mint tank / lace slip / stripe shirt (similar)

red sweatshirt / mint shirt (similar) / denim jacket / fringe cardigan (similar) / jacket (similar)

cape / vest / cardigan (similar) / sweater kimono (similar) / fleece

white dress / black dress / floral dress

Again, the goal is to get out of the consumer mindset that I need to keep buying clothes. to simplify my life and my mind a bit more. to leave more time for real life and less time for shopping and worrying about clothes. less clothes to worry about = less worrying about clothes.

And now begins my spring capsule wardrobe! next up in the mini-wardrobe series: outfit posts galore! thanks for following along!
